Rare Authentic Original Vintage 1950s 14K Gold Enamel Racing Horse Jockey Hat Cap Charm?? Hallmarked 14K on the underside of the visor. Weighs approximately 0.8 grams. Approximately 1.58 cm (9.8/16 of an inch) in length from attachment loop, excluding the bale, to the furthest front edge of the visor, and approximately 9.9 mm (6/16 of an inch) in width from furthest right edge of the cap to the furthest left edge, and approximately 4.7 mm (3/16 of an inch) in height from center top of cap to the bottom. The quality of work is fitting for the 1950s and after some research I discovered that the colors of the cap are a match for the Jockey that rode the prize chestnut colored horse named Never Say Die which was owned by Robert Sterling Clark which had major wins in the year 1954, and this little authentic original charm was created in his honor for those victories, now how cool is that? ! An interesting little note is that his father was a sire named Nasrullah, now how strange is that? ! You can read further on him on wikipedia.
